Description

California’s Central Valley provides important habitat for migratory shorebirds. In cooperation with the rice industry and rice growing community, PRBO Conservation Science and Audubon California are working to further enhance rice fields for shorebirds. Representatives from the two organizations will present preliminary results of research on rice field management practices to enhance rice for breeding, migrating and wintering shorebirds. Identification and ecology of shorebirds found in the region will also be discussed.
